Summer 6's Hockey is a great way for experienced and beginner players to learn to play or simply enjoy the sport of Hockey in a small field modified version.
Create a team of your school friends, work colleagues or family members for 8 weeks and get some off season skills, fitness and fun on the turf at Townsville Hockey at the Murray sports Complex.
All games are played on a quarter size pitch with 6 players per team no goal keepers are required.
Games will be 20 minute halves with a 5 minute break between halves.
Three time slots have been allocated on a Wednesday night and teams will rotate between these times where possible
(subject to change) :
5 - 5:45 pm
5:55- 6:40 pm
6:50 - 7:35 pm
There are sideboards to keep the ball in play and rules against hitting and lifting the ball to keep it safe and exciting.
Umpires will need to be provided from the teams weekly.
There is plenty of fun off the field as well!
We have a licenced Bar and BBQ facilities so that you can chat with your teammates and other teams afterwards.
Mixed Junior competition (10-14s) for players born years 2014 - 2010 on the Billabong Turf
School teams are encouraged to play together in the junior division especially if you are just starting out.
Where numbers permit two separate Mixed Senior (14+) competitions will be run based on overall ability of the team submitted;
Senior Competitive
and
Senior Social.
When registering please let us know your preference for competition by selecting either Adult Team ( Competitive) or Mixed Corporate (Social).

Please note when registering up to 10 players can be included per team, if players have played in the regular 2025 season they are covered by the normal insurance if not players will play at their own risk or are able to contact the office for further information.
We encourage you to mix your teams for maximum fun and involvement!
If you have multiple players in your team of experienced playing ability please nominate accordingly Summer 6s is designed for maximum participation and fun and our aim to ensure all teams enjoy the experience.
