In conjunction with Hockey Australia, Townsville Hockey Association is proud to offer the beginners Hockey program.
Hookin2Hockey - Mini Sticks for players aged 4 - 7 years old.
Hookin2Hockey - Mini Sticks gives young boys and girls the opportunity to learn the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills, and make friends, all while beginning their lifelong love of hockey.
The program is Term based and open to all new and existing players.
The Program:
Each week the Hookin2Hockey - Mini Sticks Program will, under the guidance of qualified coaches and mentors, include:

Beginner - Basic hockey skills and fun modified gamesLevel 1 - Harder skills and more modified games
- Each level will focus on hockey safety as a key part of our game.

In 2026 Townsville Hockey is offering FREE Come & Try sessions in Term 1.
TWO Free sessions at THA Murray Sporting Complex or ROO Park Kirwan
All ages welcome.

Hockey Sticks are available for new players wanting to give hockey a go.

Venue: Turf fields at Townsville Hockey Association
Start Date: Monday 16th February
End Date: Monday 23rd February
Cost: $80 Club Fee + $43.48 HA/HQ levy (Insurance)
